Behind the Work

Kaitlyn Synan is an artist based in the Catskills. Her work is a saturation of color, an experience of space through a combination of softness and severity. Her forms are vibrant and expressive, an exploration of the fleeting nature of human emotion and the temporary moments, whether that be in fauna or abstracted scenes. Synan's work is a psychedelic invitation presented to the viewer, not to seek understanding, but to exist simply in a space full of robust and chaotic harmony.

Rooted in a deep connection to nature and community, Synan’s art embodies the delicate balance between solitude and shared existence. Her practice is also shaped by years of creative work in galleries, exhibition spaces, and community art spaces. Hailing from Upstate New York, she treats artmaking as a kind of spiritual documentation, looking to express the universal human experience through rhythm, symbolism, and form.

“My work captures the fleeting beauty of nature and emotion, weaving luminous acrylics into rich, immersive compositions. Inspired by the organic flow of the natural world, bioluminescence, and the quiet poetry of transience, each piece is an invitation to indulge in reflection and reverie.”
